World Mental Health Day: Remembering Gregor Henderson

This World Mental Health Day, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) remembers Gregor Henderson, who sadly passed away this summer. Gregor was a lifelong Public Mental Health advocate and worked with the Faculty and many of our members to achieve better mental health for all.

In his leadership role with Public Health England, Gregor initiated and inspired numerous programmes that have made a difference to public health practice and outcomes. He championed the voice of those with lived experience and held a strong vision for Public Mental Health that brought many people together through his passion for change.

He told a good story, with good humour, honesty, energy, and an ability to listen to people’s own stories and find a common agenda, whatever their role was in the system. His public health leadership will be sorely missed.
