FPH is pleased to announce the results of the recent election for a new FPH President and three General Board Members (GBMs). The successful candidates, who will take up office from the FPH AGM on 12 June 2019, are:
- President – Maggie Rae
- General Board Members – Sue Atkinson, Rachel Flowers and Paul Johnstone
Prof John Middleton, President, UK Faculty of Public Health (FPH), said: “On behalf of the Board, I would like to formally congratulate Maggie, Sue, Rachel and Paul on their success.
“During the past 18 months, Maggie has worked tirelessly in her role as FPH Registrar. Under her leadership, and with such a strong team of General Board Members, I have every confidence that the Board and indeed FPH will continue to grow from strength to strength over the coming years.
“I would also like to record my sincere thanks to all those who stood for election. We very much hope to be able to engage with those who were unsuccessful on this occasion but who have demonstrated a strong commitment to FPH.”
Prof Maggie Rae, Incoming President, UK Faculty of Public Health (FPH): “I’m delighted to have been elected as the President of FPH and I’m looking forward to starting my Presidency in June.
“More than ever we need a strong voice for the public health workforce, which is why I’ll be championing education and training, other Committees and Special Interest Groups, encouraging collaborative working, and ensuring FPH is a supportive and responsible organisation for all of our members in the UK and other countries.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to my fellow candidate Sushma Acquilla, the current President, trustees, and the team at FPH. Together, everyone has worked tirelessly to deliver FPH’s strategy.
“Thank you for voting for me. It’s a real privilege to be elected as your new President and I look forward to meeting many of you in the months to come.”
