Poverty, health inequalities and transport

24th September 2024, 5:30pm - 6:20pm , Quaker Meeting House, Liverpool

Inequalities in health have increased in recent years and, as always, poverty plays an important part in this. Transport has a significant impact. The adverse effects of transport such as pollution, pedestrian accidents, and community severance fall disproportionately on deprived areas. The benefits of transport, including access to work, leisure and healthcare, are more easily accessed by car users, and many households are impoverished by forced car ownership.

Speakers: Debbie Abrahams MP and Eleanor Roaf.

This event has been organised by the FPH Transport SIG.
