Our changing climate continues to threaten human health and wellbeing locally, nationally and globally. The need for urgent and effective action on climate change across the public health workforce is ever more pressing. With this in mind, the FPH Sustainable Development SIG invites all public health colleagues to this Climate and Health Conference in London.
In coming together on this day, we will build greater capacity for climate action and advocacy across the diverse systems we work within, from local to national. We will hear from leaders and peers in this space, and carve out time for discussion, making connections, sharing ideas, celebrating the innovative work already ongoing across the UK, and generating the momentum and networks that will facilitate our future action together. A draft agenda for the conference is available here. For any general queries, please email Cat and Anya at sdsig@fph.org.uk.
Recent research and examples of public health practice seeking to address the challenges climate change presents will be presented in poster displays throughout the event. We welcome abstracts that address any aspect of the broad nexus of climate change and health – please submit your abstract here. A certificate and £100 prize in the form of a voucher for the Ethical Shop will be awarded to the best poster at the conference. For any poster related queries, please email Lizzie at elizabeth.westwood3@nhs.net.
This event is free for FPH members, the price for non-members is £150.
