Food security, healthy diets and Sustainability - how to narrow the gap
Expert discussion of how food security can and should be achieved through sustainable approaches, with critique of progress in the UK
Staffordshire University’s Centre for Health and Development (CHAD) and the Faculty of Public Health have collaborated on an annual health and inequalities conference since 2018. For this academic year we are hosting a series of short webinars on various aspects of COVID-19, related health impacts and inequalities.
In this sixth webinar in the series, hear from two experts about the impacts of COVID-19 and related restrictions on our food supply chains, the security of these systems, and possible implications for our diets. This one-hour session will include:
- Chair's Intro
- Professor Tim Lang, Emeritus Professor of Food Policy, City, University of London
- Kristin Bash, Honorary Lecturer in Public Health, and Senior Public Health Specialty Registrar, University of Sheffield
- Q&A
The next and final webinar in this series will consider experiences and learning from COVID-19 in the context of children and young people.
Details on how to join the online event will be emailed to all those who register in advance.
