Conference: Tackling Poverty - A Call To Action

17th May 2024, 10:00am - 4:30pm , Online

FPH has joined with the Royal Society of Medicine, the Association of Directors of Public Health, and the Royal Society for Public Health to host this major event addressing poverty in the UK.

Leaders from both the charitable and public health sectors will deliver insightful talks, shedding light on the root causes of poverty and the current cost-of-living crisis. The profound impact of poverty on health, particularly among vulnerable groups such as children and families, will be a particular focus of the day. Conference attendees can expect a thought-provoking day filled with diverse perspectives, robust discussions, and an emphasis on actionable solutions for combating poverty and its adverse effects at both the national and local levels.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in dynamic Q&A sessions with expert speakers from charitable and public health backgrounds.
  • Collaborate on identifying actionable next steps for the public health community to effectively address poverty and its health-related consequences.
  • Contribute to the formulation of a comprehensive public health consensus statement on poverty, which will serve as a powerful advocacy tool for influencing governmental policy decisions.
