Adult social care and safeguarding adults who are rough sleeping

27th January 2025, 12:00pm - 1:00pm , Online

The University of Staffordshire’s Centre for Health and Development (CHAD) and the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) are delighted to invite you to this webinar with Bruno Ornelas, Rough Sleeping Adviser at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, and Andy Meakin, Director of Expert Citizens Community Interest Company and freelance consultant.

In this webinar, Bruno and Andy will discuss a system-wide focus on 'rough sleeping' and Target Priority Groups (TPGs), ensuring access and integration into support available through adult social care and safeguarding. TPGs are groups which are often referred to as ‘entrenched’ rough sleepers and are identified by each individual local authority.

Bruno and Andy have a wealth of expertise on this topic.

Bruno’s role involves advising local authorities to develop and deliver local strategies to reduce 'rough sleeping' and contributing to policy and planning for the delivery of government priorities. Bruno also works with King's College London through the Health and Social Care Workforce Research Unit exploring topics such as self-neglect and mental capacity in relation to multiple exclusion homelessness.

Andy’s roles involve working with public and third sector organisations around multiple exclusion homelessness and social exclusion. Expert Citizens CIC supports organisations to realise the value of lived experience in the development, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of services for people experiencing social exclusion.
